The summer season is shaping up to be a delicious one with Jade Génin's granités-neige. You've heard of kakigoris, a Japanese specialty made with finely grated ice cream, usually accompanied by a syrup in the common version?
Imagine enjoying an ultra-refreshing ice cream, whose light, airy texture is achieved by finely grating the ice cream to order. And the special thing about Jade Génin 's granités-neige? They contain no flavoring, coloring or syrup, and are made exclusively from carefully selected fresh, natural ingredients.
These aren't granités or sorbets, they're not flavored crushed ice at all, they're aerial ice creams so finely grated that they're ultra-light and super-refreshing. The flavors are rich and powerful. Flavors change according to new arrivals, and during our visit, we discovered :
Each granita is a unique delight, respecting the flavors of the fruit or product chosen, for a most surprising result. You'll be amazed by the snowy, airy texture, obtained without any crushed ice. You can feel Jade Génin's passion in these meticulously prepared granités, to "sublimate products around these 3 words: freshness, gourmandise and lightness".
The delights of Jade Génin are distinguished by the way they are made, with no coloring, flavoring, syrup, milk or cream. In fact, please note that these ice creams are entirely vegan, egg-free and dairy-free. The result is a refreshing dessert that's light, easy to digest, low in sugar but extremely indulgent, promising unparalleled lightness.
On our visit, we also tested the ice cream version in the same format. Jade Genin's ice creams are made without the use of a turbine! Instead, they too are grated by the minute, just like her granités-neige. This innovative method, developed by Jade, avoids the injection of air into ice creams (unlike traditional ice creams), resulting in extremely intense flavors and a particularly creamy texture. True to its principles, Jade uses only top-quality ingredients for its ice creams, such as Tahitian vanilla and Bronte pistachio. What's more, thanks to her technique, she doesn't need to resort to the stabilizers and additives commonly found in industrial ice creams.
Expect to pay €7.50 for granité neige ice cream, or €5.50 for ice cream, for a unique taste experience combining Japanese tradition and culinary inventiveness. So, are you ready to discover granité-neige? The store is open every day except Monday.
