Many were saddened to hear of Stéphanie Le Quellec 's departure from the famous Prince of Wales restaurant, where she had served since 2013. But gourmets can rest assured, as the two-starred chef has announced the opening of her restaurant La Scène , due to open in Paris on October 9, 2019 .
The opening of La Scène is a real consecration for this chef who trained with the greatest like Philippe Legendre. Stéphanie Le Quellec won season 2 of the Top Chef competition in 2011, and arrived at the Prince of Wales in 2013 to take charge of the Parisian palace's new restaurant. It wasn't long before she was making a name for herself, earning a first Michelin star just 9 months after her arrival, followed by a second star 6 years later.
"For me, opening my own restaurant symbolized a return to my fundamentals, to my initial dream, that of the 14-year-old girl entering the hotel school as one enters religion. At the time, I knew neither palaces nor Michelin-starred restaurants, nor had I ever been to one, but I dreamed of a small family home where I could cook simply. La Scène is the culmination of many years of work, personal investment, questioning and sometimes doubts. More than a restaurant, for me it's a real life project, intimately linked to my personal history. Today, I'm proud and happy to be able to add my name to that of my restaurant, and to express freely and simply what cooking means to me: sharing, conviviality, sincerity... Fundamental values that were already those of La Scène 7 years ago, and which today drive me to go even deeper in what I commit to and imagine for my new address. Through this restaurant, I want to create a true place to live in my own image, where I can welcome my guests as I would at home for my friends and family. Surrounded by my closest friends, my loyal collaborators and my solid team, I am embarking on the project of a lifetime, the beginning of a wonderful adventure ", she said.
As for the restaurant La Scène, we can tell you that it boasts a kitchen installed in the heart of the open-plan dining room, and can accommodate up to thirty guests.
Stéphanie Le Quellec offers " creative French cuisine that respects meticulously sourced, eco-responsible produce, close to producers and breeders ".
Upstairs, customers can discover the Avant-Scène bar, with cocktails and champagne on offer.
