Yuxiangting, an unusual restaurant serving Chinese fondue, whether you like it or not, where a train provides the service

Yuxiangting, located in the heart of Paris's 2nd arrondissement, offers an all-you-can-eat Chinese fondue menu. Just like the fondues bourguignonnes or savoyardes in France, Chinese fondue can never be ordered on its own, and that's why this restaurant was created!

If you're in the mood for a quiet lunch or dinner, or simply dreaming of a Chinese fondue, but no one is available to dine with you, this is the restaurant for you! Of course, you can also go together. At Yuxiangting, you're seated in a long, futuristic-looking room. The ingredients for your broth pass before your eyes, while a train brings the broth to each customer. The all-you-can-eat formula costs €29.90.

To begin, you scan the QR code and choose your broth, plus a drink if you wish (not included in the formula). Several broth bases are available: we tested the tomato broth and the spicy beef butter broth. Your broth arrives on an electronic train that circles the table. You then take your broth and place it on the hot plate, where you can adjust the temperature. Once you've got your broth, it's time to spice it up.

The food is displayed before your very eyes, and all you have to do is pick it out with a pair of tongs. The variety of choices is quite impressive, and in line with what is put into a Chinese fondue in China. You can start with a base - there are noodles of all kinds: wheat noodles, konjac noodles, sweet potato noodles, rice vermicelli... and then add whatever you like.

There's a wide choice of meats (chicken, beef, pork, lamb) in various forms, fish and shellfish, and vegetables. While you're waiting for the food to cook in your broth, you can choose from a number of pre-prepared appetizers, such as egg rolls or gyozas. To accompany your various foods, you can create your own sauce with a wide choice of spices and sauce bases.

To round off the meal, you'll find Chinese and French desserts on the conveyor belt. Chinese fondue traditionally ends with Chinese jelly, but for fans of French desserts, you'll find macaroons, chocolate cakes, beignets and more.
