Jean François Piège has opened a new shop in Paris, in the 7th arrondissement, and we're crazy about it! Just a stone's throw from his restaurants, you might want to try his Kouign-Amann, Saint-Dominique or the fabulous Chou Chou.

Ohhh no, pastries are conspiring against us! As it is cold outside, we need to rake in calories, it is purely physiological. After facing tremendous perils with Cyril Lignac's shops, those of Christophe Adam or Christophe Michalak, we now have Jean-François Piège in the game.

Knowthine ennemy: this new pastry shop is called Gâteaux Thoumieux (Thoumieux cakes), and since November 20, 2013, you will find the beast 58 rue Saint Dominique in Paris 7th arrondissement, just a stone's throw away from his restaurants.

To be the Lord of the land, Jean-François Piège chose the pastry chef Ludovic Chaussard, who had worked with him at Alain Ducasse. Ludovic has fairly impressive references, both in France (Fauchon, Morand, Grand Hotel de Paris ) and abroad (Greece, Las Vegas) and previously held the position of Deputy pastry chef at the legendary Tour d'Argent, in the 5th arrondissement .

To design the place, Jean François Piège asked talented interior architect and designer India Madhavi. For Gateaux Thoumieux, she went for a boudoir decor, with pastel colors. A modern and elegant decor with soft green, marble and oak.

As for the pastries, the Chefs went for classic desserts, fairly easy to recognize. Apart from the traditional pastries and cakes, Ludovic Chaussard and his team offer a wide range of seasonal pies and cakes.
