Have you been watching the Bridgerton series and seeing flowers everywhere? Then perhaps it's time to discover the terrace of the Westin Paris - Vendôme, which this summer 2024 presents "La Terrasse des Roses", an original floral garden that's sure to delight.
Nestled in the establishment's historic courtyard, this terrace is a haven of peace, away from prying eyes and the hustle and bustle of Paris. Here, you can enjoy a bucolic experience beside the fountain, in a flower-filled atmosphere where hydrangeas and roses enhance the setting. This shady terrace is as much a place to soak up the sun as it is to take shelter, as it can be covered almost entirely if it rains.
In collaboration with the great Domaines Gérard Bertrand, the Westin Paris - Vendôme offers a terrace in the colors of Côte des Roses, evoking a journey to the south of France.
That's why Chef David Reneux, who has been in the kitchen for 30 years, offers us a summer cuisine with a Mediterranean accent. Among the delights to be savored under the sun, we let ourselves be tempted by the sublime Riviéra of semi-cooked tuna and the beautiful Fleur de melon charentais with lemongrass and Iberian ham presented in a rosette. Fresh, finely-crafted dishes with a southern flair.
For the main course, we opted for the Suprême de volaille de la ferme de Luteau with its asparagus méli-mélo, and the Bouillabaisse de rouget, sublimated by its saffron aïoli, enough to make you feel completely at home in the South of France.
On the dessert side, it's time for the creations of new Pastry Chef Valentin Sevilla, fresh from the Royal Monceau. This new chef is determined to delight us with his gourmet creations. We're smitten with the Strawberry Hibiscus Pavlova and the astonishing Apricot Rosemary Moelleux with Madagascar Vanilla Cream.
On your right, inside the terrace, you'll find the bar, where head bartender Philippe Guidi offers a wine cocktail menu like an ode to the rose. Fruity aromas and floral notes are the order of the day. Each cocktail, such as the Red Eden, the Sugar Moon or the Wildfire, pays homage to different varieties of rose, for a refreshingly bucolic stroll.
La Terrasse des Roses is located at 3 rue de Castiglione, in the 1st arrondissement of Paris. Reservations can be made online. Prices start at €21 for starters, €27 for main courses, and €14 for desserts. The terrace is open from May 22 to early October, from 11 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., and lunch is served from 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and dinner from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Whether enjoying a refined meal, sipping a cocktail or creative mocktail, or relaxing in good company under the rose bushes of the historic courtyard, the "Terrasse des Roses" offers a timeless interlude. And don't forget to immortalize the moment with a snapshot against a backdrop of roses!
