This spring is going to be complicated for the users of the line 3bis. The famous line considered as the smallest of the Parisian metro will be completely closed for 10 consecutive days.
In detail, traffic on line 3bis will be completely interrupted from Saturday 29 April to Monday 8 May 2023 inclusive. RATP specifies that this total closure of line 3bis is due to the renewal of switches.
" The turnouts are all the elements that support the train. They are made up of fixed elements (ballast and sleepers) and mobile elements (switches, which allow the train to branch off). Their good condition allows greater flexibility in the movement of trains. They are therefore regularly replaced in order to support the trains and to ensure that the junctions are made without disrupting the comfort and safety of passengers," states the transit authority on its website.
After lines 11, 14, 1 and 13, it is now the turn of line 3bis to undergo modernization work. Note however that all connecting lines will remain open from April 29 to May 8.
Throughout this total closure of line 3bis, users will be able to take bus lines 61 and 64 or metro line 3 between Gambetta and Porte de Bagnolet and then tramway T3b to reach Porte des Lilas.
Line 3bis will reopen on the morning of May 9. However, from May 9 to 12, 2023, " the network will be stabilized with a speed limit of 15 km/h, which will have a slight impact on the transport offer on line 3bis," explains RATP.
Line 3bis is the smallest line in the Paris metro, with only four stations served: Porte de Lilas, Saint-Fargeau, Pelleport and Gambetta.
