More bad news for users of public transport in the Paris region. RATP is planning to take advantage of the school vacations and the spring break to carry out some renovation work. After lines 1, 11 and 3bis of the Paris metro, it is now the turn of the RER B to face a few changes and therefore disruptions during the Easter vacations.
In detail, RATP is announcing that traffic will be interrupted on the RER B between the Fontaine-Michalon and Massy-Palaiseau stations from April 29 to May 1, 2023 inclusive, i.e. for three days. " From April 29 to May 1 inclusive, the RER B stations between Fontaine-Michalon and Massy-Palaiseau are closed for SNCF works on the RER C ", says the company on its website.
In concrete terms, the Massy-Verrières and Les Baconnets stations will be inaccessible. Massy-Palaiseau station will become the temporary terminus from Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse. Conversely, Fontaine-Michalon station will be the new temporary terminus from Paris/Mitry-Claye/Aéroport Charles-de-Gaulle 2.
Also, during this partial closure on the RER B, RATP announces the implementation of a replacement bus system in both directions. This will serve all stations between Fontaine-Michalon and Massy-Palaiseau. "As far as possible, try to postpone your trips or plan for a much longer journey time ", says the transport company. In addition to the replacement bus, passengers will also be able to take the 119 bus.
