UGC Normandie, the famous cinema on the Champs-Elysées, is bidding farewell. Before bidding us farewell, the cinema is auctioning off its famous blue seats and soon-to-be iconic objects from an era on Thursday June 13, 2024, in aid of a good cause: the Rêve de Cinéma association, which brings cheer to the hearts of sick children.

As previously announced, the UGC Normadie is living out its final days. The end is expected this Thursday, June 13, 2024. Have you spent hours there watching good movies? It's the end of an era on the Champs. To keep a piece of the cinema that brought the 8th arrondissement to life, why not treat yourself to some of its seats or objects? Before closing its doors for good, the cinema is organizing a solidarity auction on Thursday June 13, 2024. The event will support the Rêve de Cinéma association, which brings the magic of cinema to sick children.

Iconic objects to acquire

The iconic blue seats of the Grand Normandie hall, along with other iconic items, will be on sale. Among the items on offer are:

  • The mythical armchairs of the Salle Grand Normandie
  • The letters of the sign on the facade
  • Photos of actors and directors who have marked the history of cinema

These items have already been on display online since Thursday, June 3, 2024, and the sale will take place at the UGC Normandie on Thursday, June 13 at 2pm, with the option of taking part online. The sale is organized by ADER Entreprises & Patrimoine, which specializes in promoting corporate heritage.

A charitable gesture

All proceeds from the sale will be donated to Rêve de Cinéma. Founded over 28 years ago, Rêve de Cinéma's mission is to bring the magic of cinema to sick and disabled children and teenagers, by giving them access to films at the same time as all other children.

Samuel Loiseau, Managing Director of UGC Cinemas Operations, expressed his pride: " We hope this auction will arouse strong interest from collectors and cinephiles alike, and help Rêve de Cinéma champion its essential cause." Sandrine Blanchet, President of Rêve de Cinéma, added: "We hope to be able to help many children enjoy a cinema experience. "
