SNCF reports major traffic disruptions on the Atlantic, Northern and Eastern LGV lines. On the night of Thursday July 25 to Friday July 26, just a few hours before the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the rail network was the victim of "malicious acts" that had a major impact on these routes.

As Paris hosts the Olympic Games for the first time in 100 years, just hours before the opening ceremony on the Seine, SNCF passengers are facing major disruptions on its TGV routes. On the night of July 25 to 26, 2024, the rail network was hit by " several concomitant acts of malevolence". As a result, traffic was severely disrupted on the Atlantic, Northern and Eastern high-speed lines. "Arson fires have been set to damage our facilities" says SNCF, while specifying that the LGV Sud Est is not affected, an act of malice having been foiled.

SNCF is advising passengers to check the impact on their trains before departure, while its subsidiary SNCF Voyageurs is advising customers to postpone their journeys. Faced with these major problems, the network is adapting, in particular by diverting certain trains onto conventional lines, although many journeys will still be cancelled. Passengers affected should be contacted by e-mail or SMS. "Our teams are on site to diagnose the problem and begin repairs", says the network.
