On July 26, 2024, if you don't have a ticket for the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, it's best to avoid getting around the capital, as even the slightest movement promises to be complicated. Throughout the day, many areas will be off-limits to the public, including Paris bridges, platforms, and certain metro stations such as Concorde and Tuileries, which will be closed to the public to ensure the smooth running and security of the event.
But this day is not the only one concerned, since due to prior installations, some places will be off-limits, from June 2024. This applies in particular to the quays of the Seine , and especially the lower quays, which will be closed to pedestrians from mid-June. On the upper quays, motorized traffic will be banned from mid-July, in order to set up the areas that will accommodate spectators with free tickets.
A few days before the ceremony, the traffic ban will be extended along the entire length of the quays, from Charenton to Boulogne.
