The Olympic Games are all about sport, yes, but they're also about celebration and emotion. For the first time in a century, the City of Light is hosting this iconic competition, and for the occasion, Paris becomes the crossroads where the whole world meets. Because yes, during the Paris 2024 Olympics, while the athletes proudly wear their colors, several participating countries seize the opportunity to showcase their respective cultures through festive ephemeral venues.
Jamaica has answered the call, landing in the city of Saint-Denis, in the 93 region of France, which is also home to one of the Paris 2024 Olympic venues: the Stade de France. In the heart of the Plaine Saint-Denis, Jamaïca House unveils a concept spanning over 900m2 with an open-air space. Organized by theJamaica Tourist Board, this ephemeral spot, expected from August 3 to 8, takes us to the heart of the Caribbean, to discover this island and its culture. Admission is free, and the venue is open from noon to 10pm.
Here you'll find handicrafts, gourmet foods (jerk chicken & pork, curry goat, Rice & peas, patties, etc.) and beverages specific to the country, a travel section for those tempted to make Jamaica their next destination, as well as a program of events including concerts, DJ sets hosted by Jamaican artists, and other entertainment especially for children.
In addition, Olympic Games events and medal ceremonies will be broadcast from the venue. And don't miss August 6, which will be a highlight of the program, as it is Jamaica Independence Day.
