Originally scheduled for Sunday, September 1 and Monday, September 2, 2024, the para triathlon events have been postponed and all starts - all categories and genders combined - will be given this Monday. Where to watch the athletes?

Until September 8, 2024, the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games promise great medals, great emotions, but above all, extraordinary performances in venues that are unique in the world.

Some of the dozens of events on offer are free and open to the general public. These include the Paralympic marathon, whose route crosses the Seine-Saint-Denis département and Paris over 42 kilometers, and the para-triathlon events.

Finally organized on September 2, 2024 from 8:15 am, the para triathlon includes several starts, with athletes classified by disability category and gender. Starts will follow the following schedule:

Monday, September 2 :

  • PTWC Men, 8:15 am
  • PTWC Women, 8:20 am
  • PTS3 Men, 9:25 a.m.
  • PTS2 Men, 9:30 a.m.
  • PTS2 Women, 9:35 a.m.
  • PTVI Men, 12 noon
  • PTVI Women, 12:05pm
  • PTS5 Men, 12h20
  • PTS4 Men, 12.25pm
  • PTS5 Women, 12.35pm
  • PTS4 Women, 12:40

On the French side, some of our Paralympic athletes will be there, with Alexis Hanquinquant, flag bearer for the French delegation.

To cheer on our French athletes competing in the para triathlon events, and all the other champions of the day, you can post up along the course to support the athletes.

Points of interest include :

  • the Quai d'Orsay, an ideal spot since, once out of the water, triathletes take to their bikes for a 20 km course in 5 loops, passing along this quay. The same goes for the running course, which also uses this quay, but in the opposite direction, towards boulevard Saint-Germain (3 loops in all).
  • les Invalides and pont des Invalides
  • theNational Assembly
  • Musée d'Orsay
  • the Grand Palais
  • Petit Palais
  • Avenue des Champs-Élysées
  • Arc de Triomphe
  • rue François 1er
  • Avenue Montaigne

Each athlete will have to pass the tests in three disciplines: 750 m swim, 20 km bike and 5 km run, the official Paralympic distance. While the swim has just one loop, from the Alexandre III bridge (where the start will be given) to the Invalides bridge, there are 5 loops on the bike, with the route passing in front of the Petit Palais, avenue Montaigne, avenue des Champs-Elysees, the quays of Orsay... Before finishing on the run, with 3 loops on Boulevard Saint-Germain and the Quais d'Orsay.

So get your flags, face painters and other supporters' shirts ready, and go and watch the Paris 2024 para triathlon events, starting at 8.15am!
