Les Arènes Lyriques 2024, the open-air classical festival, returns to the Butte Montmartre

Looking for classical music andopera this summer 2024? The 5th edition of the Arènes Lyriques festival, to be held in Montmartre from July 26 to August 17, 2024, will enchant you! Take your place in the secret Arènes de Montmartre, a garden just a few minutes' walk from the Sacré Coeur on rue Chappe: it's time for a poetic evening of music.

Performances are scheduled for Friday July 26 and Saturday July 27, as well as Friday August 2, Saturday August 3, Thursday August 8, Friday August 9, Saturday August 10, Thursday August 15, Friday August 16 and Saturday August 17, 2024. For the occasion, the young musicians and opera singers will sing and play under the garlands of lights of the Arènes de Montmartre, under the starry summer sky.

This Arènes Lyriques ensemble presents a repertoire ranging from baroque to symphonic music, fromromantic opera to traditional Latin folk melodies. These concerts are quite spontaneous: the precise program is never known in advance and, the day after the concert, the audience receives an e-mail with details of the works performed the day before.

However, this year's program at Les Arènes Lyriques already includes a number of highlights: Vivaldi's Concerte pour viole d'amour (I.Vivace), Wagner's Air de la mort d'Isolde, Tchaikovsky's Souvenir d'un lieu cher (I.Méditation)... But also pieces by Rachmaninoff, Chopin, Mozart, Donizetti...
