As the weeks go by, the pressure mounts for the 37Eurovision candidates. Expected in Malmö, Sweden, in May 2024, the 37 contestants are tirelessly rehearsing their song and show to convince the jury and viewers when the time comes.
This spring, the Eurovision Song Contest officially kicks off on May 7 with the first semi-final, followed by the second semi-final on May 9. These two crucial stages will determine the lucky finalists who will face off on May 11 in Scandinavia. Note that 6 countries are automatically qualified, including France.
Does France have a chance of winning the 68th Eurovision Song Contest? Can its candidate, Slimane, succeed Loreen with his song " Mon amour "? For the time being, predictions are rife. As of April 24, Slimane is not one of the 5 favorites according to the bookmakers. However, they place him in a strong 6th position, closely followed by the Greek and Israeli candidates.
Slimane, who will be invading theAccor Arena in Paris twice in 2025, is currently credited with a 4% chance of victory. However, the artist would have a 63% chance of appearing in the top 10 and 32% in the top 5! In other good news, the more the weeks go by, the higher Slimane climbs in the final rankings. This brings him closer to the Ukrainian duo, currently ranked 5th in the competition.
As for his song " Mon amour", it is currently well positioned on Spotify and has already racked up over 20 million listens, just behind the Netherlands with its candidate Joost Klein and Spain, represented by the duo Nebulossa.
