Since the end of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, some people's spirits have been dampened. Many still remember the joy of the medal-winning athletes, the smiles of the volunteers and supporters, and the little dance steps of the Phrygians, who have become the unmissable mascots of these Games. So, to party one last time and celebrate the exploits of our tricolored champions, a grand parade of athletes, medal winners or not, is being prepared this Saturday, September 14, 2024 on theavenue des Champs-Élysées, between Georges V and the Place de l'Étoile. They plan to walk up the most beautiful avenue in the world between 4pm and 6pm. Members of the Games staff and volunteers will also take part in this"Parade of Champions".
So far, a number of players have confirmed their attendance, including Teddy Riner and the rest of the French judo team, four-time Olympic swimming champion Léon Marchand, brothers Felix and Alexis Lebrun , and the French 7-a-side rugby team with Antoine Dupont.
After the athletes' parade, a ceremony to present the decorations will take place from 6.30pm to 8pm, in the presence ofEmmanuel Macron.
But that's not all, as a large stage will be set up on the Place de l'Étoile, around theArc de Triomphe. According to Le Parisien, it will be in the shape of a ring, and should host several artists from 9pm, followed by DJ sets from 11pm. For the time being, we still don't know the names of the artists who will perform live during this exceptional two-hour concert. But as announced by Le Parisien, renowned artists who left their mark on the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games ceremonies will be on hand!
"We've released four albums, and when you release four albums, you do a best of. So we're going to make a best of of all the ceremonies, musically speaking. We'll be bringing back the best of what we've experienced, in original forms," explained Thierry Reboul, Creative Director of Paris 2024, at a press conference on September 11.
Will Aya Nakamura be there? Can we expect to see and hear the metal band Gojira? Will Juliette Armanet, Zaho de Sagazan, Lucky Love, Santa, Kavinksy, Air, Phoenix or Amadou et Mariam be on the bill? The suspense remains. So stay tuned to find out which artists are expected in Paris on September 14 for the athletes' parade.
For those of you who have fallen under the spell of the Phrygians, the Olympic and Paralympic mascots should also be part of the party this Saturday! This event is free of charge, but reservations are required. For those unable to attend, the event will be broadcast live on France 2.
