MCT Crew: 40 years of subversive art on the streets of Paris at Amarrage gallery

From September 12 to 30, Graffart invites you to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the MCT Crew, an emblematic collective on the Paris graffiti scene. Formed in 1984, the Crew brings together a number of talented artists who have made their mark with a unique style combining humor, social satire and a variety of techniques. With works that are often subversive, funny and critical, the Crew has forged a strong identity in urban art. Don't miss this exhibition highlighting their careers and their impact on the graffiti art scene.

The Crew reinvents typography with each graffiti, creating novel alphabets and imposing lettering. The graffiti crew describes itself as "addicted to graffiti", whether it's done legally or in vandal mode. For them, it's above all passion that guides their artistic practice. This addiction to graffiti transcends the boundaries of urban art, driving them to express themselves through every wall, every surface available, and to share their vision of the world with the public.

Founded several decades ago, it has stood the test of time while retaining its pioneering spirit. Each member of the collective is an artist in his or her own right, bringing his or her own vision and experience to the group. Over the years, the MCT Crew has evolved, adapting to changes in the urban art scene. The hundreds of members of the collective have multiplied their experiences, collaborating with other artists, exhibiting in galleries and participating in large-scale artistic projects. Their influence has spread far beyond Paris to China, the United States and New Caledonia, making the MCT Crew a key player in urban art worldwide.

Following this exhibition, a week of festive events awaits you from September 26 to 29 at Galerie Amarrage, in partnership with Dégaine Les Puces, the LSM association and Funky Letter: exhibitions, DJ sets, pop-ups, tattoos and many other surprises.
