Myriam Mihindou returns to the Palais de Tokyo! After an exhibition in 2022, during the Grand Désenvoutement, the museum invites you to discover the artist's work in one of its autumn exhibitions, Praesentia, from October 17, 2024 to January 5, 2025. This exhibition, which unveils twenty years of work, explores presence, power and protection through works that are as spiritual as they are political.
Theexhibition aims to revisit dominant narratives through their margins, giving voice and visibility to bodies, practices and imaginaries that have long been marginalized. Myriam Mihindou is a multi-talented, multi-disciplinary artist - sculpture, installation, drawing, video, performance - who draws on themes as varied as identity, memory, spirituality and ecology. Her approach, deeply rooted in physical empathy and ritual, is both artistic and healing. It is a reflection on individual and collective wounds, whether linked to forms of subjugation or domination.
Praesentia is produced in collaboration with Crac Occitanie in Sète, where the exhibition will travel from February 7 to May 4, 2025. This partnership extends the visibility of the artist's works, encouraging their circulation among a diverse public. It's a way of anchoring Myriam Mihindou 's work firmly in the contemporary artistic landscape, while highlighting her role in healing memories and minoritized identities.
In this exhibition, Myriam Mihindou, who has already taken part in international biennales, once again establishes herself as a major voice incontemporary art, embodying a dialogue between the body, spirituality and politics. All you have to do now is discover her work!
