Step into the shoes of a ranger at Thoiry Zoo and spend a morning with the zoo's caretakers, preparing food, observing animal care and enjoying an unusual experience.

For one morning, Thoiry Zoo offers you the chance to change jobs and learn all about animal care. This is an opportunity for teenagers and adults aged 15 and over to discover this fascinating profession, up close and personal with the animals.

After offering its Soigneur d'un jour activities for children or families (with young children), Thoiry Zoo continues to make us dream and to offer its visitors the chance to experience unforgettable moments with its residents from all over the world. Primates, wolves, elephants, rhinos... Meet the park's most famous animals and follow the caretakers who look after them on a daily basis during an extraordinary morning! Please note: you're not just there to observe, but also to help clean the enclosures, train the animals medically, prepare their food and feed them! That's why you'll need to be in good physical condition to take on the role of ranger, and why you'll need to wear comfortable, dirt-resistant clothing and footwear.

You can choose between the primate morning, when you'll meet the park's lemurs, gorillas and gibbons, or the more general savannah morning.

In the skin of a ranger, the program:

  • 9am: welcome by the guide
  • Enrichment of maned wolves
  • Visit to the African elephant house and medical training
  • Cleaning the white rhino house
  • Animal food preparation and feeding (lemurs, Australian birds...)

In the shoes of a primate ranger, the program :
