The world of beer continues to seduce more and more palates. Around major public events such as Paris Beer Week and the Mondial de la bière, the number of establishments dedicated to suds is increasing in the capital. These include Demory Paris, Fine Mousse and Bar Fondamental, not to mention Brussels Beer Project.
BBP Pigalle opened its doors in March 2018. A year later, Brussels Beer Project had already opened its second Parisian address, this time nestled in the Canal St-Martin district.BBP Canal is both a design and a convivial place to live, with its comfortable banquettes and cushions, its multicoloured ceiling, and its large double terrace overlooking a quiet street opposite the Saint-Louis hospital.
On the menu? Over 20 draught beers, including the 6 permanent beers of the year: Delta Ipa, Grosse Bertha, Babylone, Jungle Joy, Wunder Lager and Juice Junkie. BBP Canal has no fewer than 26 beer taps! Lovers of suds will also discover several ephemeral creations, as well as guest beers from the four corners of the globe. On average, beer costs €4.50 for a half and €8 for a pint.
For our part, we were tempted by Toy Boy, a fruity, light sour perfect for summer, Nord Bliss IPA, Black Swan, a dark, strong beer like Guinness, very gourmet and frankly original, and Dark Sister, a black Belgian IPA. And if you're lost for choice, don't panic; you'll always find someone to advise you. At BBP Canal, the team knows its products inside out and is happy to help (and let you taste!).
And if you thought a beer bar didn't have much to offer on the food front, think again: BBP Canal has a tempting little menu to share (or not!). You'll love the huge (!) burrata di bufala (12€) with tomato confit, pesto and pomegranate topping, or the marinated purple artichokes (8€), a real treat.
And since we wanted to continue discovering new beers while eating good food, we also fell for the two burgers on the menu, on one side the beef burger (beef patty, smoked bacon, tomato confit, caramelized onions, pepper sauce, morbier or tome cheese; 15€), on the other the pulled duck (shredded duck confit, farmer's cheddar, tomato confit, red onion pickles, fig mayonnaise; 15€); both generously garnished and served with a good packet of crispy Belgian fries .
In short, for theconsiderable range of draught beers on offer, for the kindness and advice of the team, for the gourmet burgers and antipasti, and also for the large terrace, we'll be enjoying BBP Canal without moderation throughout thesummer of 2020!

Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
