Looking for a welcoming spot where you can sip clever beverages and enjoy a few plates to share? Head for Les Snobs, a cosy, convivial place to live in Paris's 2nd arrondissement.

It's a situation we've all been faced with at least once in our lives. Imagine a group of friends getting together for a night out. Of the six of them, three just want to quench their thirst. The other three know full well that their tummies will start rumbling at some point. So, what to do and where to go to satisfy everyone's cravings? If you're in the capital's 2nd arrondissement, why not push open the doors of Les Snobs?

Jean-Baptiste Perez-Castillo, alias Jibou to his friends and family, is the man behind this friendly, welcoming place to eat. With his childhood friend Thomas, Jean-Baptiste is already behind the famous Pedzouille restaurants, notably located in the 2nd and 10th arrondissements. For his new Paris address, Jean-Baptiste has teamed up with his brother Nicolas. A graduate of the Ferrandi school, Nicolas is now in charge of the Snobs kitchen.

Les Snobs is a two-storey restaurant with a simple but effective concept: a cellar where you can eat and drink and have a good time with friends. Be warned, though, that the volume can be loud, so don't plan a romantic tête-à-tête. So don't plan a romantic tête-à-tête, but rather an evening out with friends!

The menu features no fewer than 10 cocktails, including classics such as the French 75 and the Moscow Mule. For our part, we opt for the Spritz revisited with a melon liqueur, Prosecco and strawberries, and the refreshing Gin To, made with Gin and fir liqueur, lime and thin slices of cucumber. If you can't find what you're looking for, don't panic. The barman will be happy to imagine and make a creation just for you, according to your tastes. For the rest of us, Les Snobs offers craft beer (IPA), as well as several good keels from small producers.

To accompany all this and satisfy appetites, the establishment suggests several plates to share or not. On the menu that evening? The comforting and very good tartiflette with Reblochon de Savoie PDO with onions and smoked bacon, or the unmissable croque-monsieur, made here with Japanese sandwich bread, nutmeg béchamel, emmenthal and French ham.

For the rest, Les Snobs also offers the famous Camembert de Normandie flambéed in Calvados, or the Chakchouka, made with spicy vegetables, an organic soft-boiled egg, feta cheese and fresh herbs. Note that the menu evolves with the seasons. Many of the suggestions available on the menu at the time of our visit are likely to disappear, to be replaced by new gourmet offerings.

For those with a sweet tooth, we recommend you try the chocolate cake with its delicious coffee cream, rather than the traditional Madagascar vanilla custard.

As for prices, you can expect to pay 15 euros for a cocktail, 19 euros for a tartiflette, 18 euros for a croque-monsieur or 18 euros for a flambéed Camembert de Normandie. So it's up to you whether or not you want to share your plate!
