Since his departure from the Prince of Wales, Yann Couvreur has been missed by the Parisian gourmet scene! The pastry chef has worked in some of the greatest hotels and palaces in Paris: the Trianon Palace in Versailles, the Park Hyatt Paris Vendôme, the Burgundy, before forming an explosive duo with Stéphanie Le Quellec at the Prince de Galles until his departure in September 2015. In five years in Paris, the chef made a name for himself among the greats, alongside Pierre Hermé, Christophe Michalak and Philippe Conticini.
Consecrated Pastry Chef of the Year by Omnivore in 2015, Yann Couvreur develops every day the Pastry of tomorrow, a pastry with balanced flavors, reduced sugar, surprising and always innovative techniques. After delighting palaces, the chef wants to return to neighborhood pastry.
On May 20, 2016, Yann Couvreur opened his first pastry shop at 137 avenue Parmentier, in the 10th arrondissement. The chef offers pastries, his most beautiful desserts and entremets, to enjoy on the spot or to take away!
Come and discover original eclairs as much for the shape as for the tastes, entremets for 2/4 or 6 people, individual tarts and some seasonal creations (forthe opening, red fruits were in the spotlight, with an inverted strawberry and a raspberry creation).
But that's not all, since the chef also offers desserts made at the minute, to be eaten at the counter; on the menu, his famous signature dessert, the Madagascar vanilla Millefeuille, a Pavlova and an iced Ecrin covered with meringue, at 10€ each.
We like the Scandinavian decor of the place with the predominance of wood and plants, calling for relaxation. Note that the store is also a grocery store with various delicacies to take away: chocolates, teas, super soft cakes, sand roses, spreads and milk jam are among the delights to take away.
Let's face it, Yann Couveur makes desserts and entremets to die for, and dares to make terrific combinations like the chocolate-rum cake or the coffee-aniseed éclair, made continuously and in front of our eyes by his team!
Open from 8am to 8pm, Yann Couvreur's pastry shop is open and friendly, accessible at any time of the day. Formulas exist to settle down at any time of the day: for a delicious breakfast on the spot, a pastry, a fruit juice and a hot drink for 9€, and for those in a hurry, an espresso and a cookie for less than 4€!
