Are you on the lookout for a nice place to have a break and eat delightful pastries not far from the Opéra Garnier or Place Vendôme? What about a gourmet stopover at the Duke’s Bar, the cozy and comfortable bar of Hôtel Westminster. Imagine an "old fashion" English club with leather club chairs, bookcases full of books and historical paneling (imitating Westminster Abbey’s patterns), there you are.
Settle yourself comfortably in a chair and order your tea time served between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. The choice is yours: a hot drink with one of the three offered pastries. French pastries with an English twist.
Carrot Cake lovers would succumb to the carrot éclair. A gourmet éclair filled with a light carrot-flavored cream, covered in cream cheese, crunchy pecan nuts and colorful carrot pickles jazzing it up.
If you are more a napoleon lover, just like me, well, pick the millefeuille Banoffee. A succulent pastry smelling sweetly of banana and cheesecake, we love it!
Bitter orange lover will be spoiled with the orange marmalade, cream and candied fruits tart.
Count €15 for a hot drink with a pastry and €10 for any additional pastry. Céladon’s pastry chef (the hotel’s restaurant), Bryan Esposito, also offers cookies changing according to days. Chocolate madeleine, coconut and chocolate cookie or berries financiers are waiting for you.
Not fancying a hot drink? Look at the bartender with puppy eyes, he will be happy to prepare a cocktail matching your pastries.
Have a good treat, friends!
