You may have noticed it, dear sweet-toothed readers, Levantine baking is slowly taking over Paris and the famous babka, this delicious chocolatey brioche, is now available in many bakeries and renown patisseries and we’re happy.
If, like us, you love babka, this news will make you happy too: in the Pigalle area, a brand-new address devoted to babka has just been inaugurated!
Running this spot named Babka Zana, Sarah Amouyal and Emmanuel Murat will provide babka in all shapes and sizes (individual, cake, pie) and based on 4 flavors: cinnamon-muscovado; Iranian and Turkish pistachio-orange blossom; halva-lemon; chocolate-hazelnut based on spread A La Mère de Famille.
In addition to creating the perfect brioche, Sarah Amouyal and Emmanuel Murat called in pastry chef Benoit Castel. And you can be sure you’re in good hands!
But Babka Zana also wants to make you discover other Levantine specialties like the Rugelach, this small and addictive chocolate mini-croissant, and a selection of sandwiches for lunch based on traditional Mediterranean breads and homemade like the Hallah and the Jerusalem Bagel or the Borekas, a now emblematic street-food dish from Tel-Aviv.
In other words, a highly delicious address to discover now!
Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
