A chef we have discovered with his orgasmic pastries at Gastel, Olivier Stehly is now flying on his own and has decided to delight people’s taste buds. In December 2018, he opened a pastry corner in the brand-new shopping mall by the platforms.
In the main aisle, facing the Little Extra store and behind Jeff de Bruges, we discover his store, ideally set near the waiting area. A perfect little corner if you’re looking for a cup of coffee, tea or something to nibble on.
Cookies, chocolate bars, macarons and financiers are given pride of place with beautiful mini pastries, the perfect format to eat on the go and to taste several treats. You can also find savory offerings, hearty sandwiches if you’re in a hurry.
Among the pastries to discover, we have Eskimo pies, as crispy as smooth. Who’s gonna have one flavored with pistachio and Morello cherry heart coated with white chocolate? We also fall for the chocolate dome and delicious cottage cheese and runny praline heart.
Sourness fans will also enjoy the lemon pie with a nice taste of yuzu that hides crispy hazelnuts. In the mood for travel? Go for the exotic shortbread. We love the contrast between fleur de sel and the soft coconut and mango dome, a delight!
We must say, this corner is a bit small but perfect to treat yourself on the go. If you enjoy taking your time, note that the chef will soon (in April) open a tea house by Les Halles. We can’t wait to discover it, but in the meantime, enjoy!
Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
