This is the event associated with the reopening of the Musée Bourdelle, which reopens its doors on March 15, 2023 after extensive renovation work. In one of the sculptor's former studios, a café-restaurant has been opened, named Le Rhodia, in honor of Antoine Bourdelle's daughter. Please note, however, that you will have to wait until March 28 to be able to dine in this new gourmet space.
The new venue's designer, Jean-René Chassignol, founder of the "ISANA" restaurants, promises a cuisine to match the new museum's ambitions.
Located just a stone's throw from the Montparnasse Tower, the charming Musée Bourdelle is one of the nuggets Paris has in store for strollers. Nestled between workshops and hidden gardens, it's in this enchanting setting that Le Rhodia sets up its tables, inviting visitors, workers and locals alike to enjoy a gourmet break. Le Rhodia will be a real place of life, as it awaits you continuously, all day long from 10am to 6pm, with a menu that will evolve throughout the day, from breakfast toearly afterwork.
In addition to the room overlooking the inner garden, there's also a huge L-shaped terrace, with one part open and the other covered. We have no doubt that this terrace, overlooking the museum's front garden, will be the ideal setting for a bucolic, gourmet break.
Le Rhodia' s menu will be lively and comforting, with nods to the artist's life. The menu will evolve with the day and the seasons, and everything is homemade, with a responsible and healthy approach to cooking. The restaurant also emphasizes organic ingredients and local artisans.
Kids friendly, the café-restaurant will offer a children's menu at €11 during lunch, while the three adult menus range from €15 to €21. The menu features gourmet wellness dishes such as golden latte and eggnog, as well as dishes from local artisans.
The menu will also feature daily specials such as garlic soup in homage to Antoine Bourdelle. South American dishes such as ceviche and ISANA empanadas are also available. The menu is rounded out by comfort dishes such as boeuf bourguignon and pink celery remoulade.
Snack options include orange blossom brioche boule, honey and garrigue madeleines, and the amaranth/date/orange confit/hazelnut super cookie, suitable for gourmands, vegetarians and those with lactose and gluten intolerance. For savory cravings, guests can choose between boiled eggs, celery remoulade and a charcuterie board. Iconic cocktails, such as the Chilean (Pisco Sour), are also available for those with a taste for adventure.
A family-style brunch buffet awaits you on Sundays from 10:30 am to 3 pm. It will feature a savory and sweet assortment of local and French specialties, as well as dishes from elsewhere that reflect Antoine Bourdelle's connection with foreign lands. It's a taste experience not to be missed!
The Rhodia 's décor is both modern and steeped in history, with a room that was designed by renowned Art Deco decorator Michel Dufet after his 1947 marriage to Bourdelle's daughter. The furniture is unique and designed to restore a domestic character to the former apartment, using materials such as stone, clay and wood, in homage to the work of Antoine Bourdelle. The space is enhanced by touches of modernism and contemporary design, with chairs by Olavi Hänninen and Pierre Gautier Delaye, and lighting fixtures made in Céline Wright's workshop on the Ile Saint Louis.
As well as offering tasty cuisine, Le Rhodia also takes care of us and the planet, with a responsible and sustainable approach to cooking, as well as returnable glass containers for outside consumption.
Le Rhodia will offer an unusual address in the heart of Paris's 15th arrondissement, a stone's throw from the Montparnasse Tower, and an invitation to gourmet disconnection, from breakfast to family brunch.
