Located just a stone's throw from Père Lachaise for the past fifteen years, Yard restaurant wrote a new page in its history in 2018, when the Culinaries group took over the premises. A bistro at lunchtime and a wine bar in the evening, Yard is open for lunch from Monday to Friday and for dinner every day of the week, as well as at weekends - we're told that the evenings are particularly festive!
Of course, Culinaries is synonymous with natural, organic and biodynamic wines galore, with no fewer than 300 references on the restaurant's wine list, ranging from little-known wines to prestigious cuvées, and even unique Culinaries creations in collaboration with hand-picked winemakers.
The easiest and safest way is to let yourself be guided by the restaurant team, who know each of these fine wines inside out. It's a great way to make new discoveries, which can be enjoyed on the premises, accompanied in the evening by small plates to share, or to take home and share with your guests. And to take things even further, tastings and meetings with winemakers are regularly organized on site!
In addition to its bar and wine shop, Yard also boasts an open-plan dining room where you can enjoy simple, seasonal bistro fare prepared with local produce at affordable prices. Expect to pay €23 for a starter/main course or main course/dessert, €28 for a starter/main course/dessert, and €7 for starters, €17 for main courses and €7 for desserts.
On our visit, two typically bistronomic starters, a perfect egg with beet mousseline and a zaatar hummus; two rather basic main courses, a breaded chicken fillet with slightly dry rice pilaf and spaghetti with button mushrooms and eryngii; and two comforting desserts, an apple tatin and a coffee crème brûlée.
Noon and evening, there's always a good reason to go to Yard.
