We didn't have to wait long to discover a tasty new address at 184 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré. Forget Dassaï, it's now the gleaming L'Attilio Paris restaurant that has taken the place of Joël Robuchon's former address.

From its past, L'Attilio Paris has retained some of its team, such as the head waiter and head chef, Attilio Marrazzo, who worked alongside the multi-starred chef for 12 years. Now established in his own name, the Italian chef has created a menu that pays homage to his transalpine origins, but is executed according to the French precepts and savoir-faire acquired from Robuchon.
The setting is refined, representative of the chic of this corner of Paris. You enter the premises via the L'Attilio Paris grocery store, where you can take away pastries, macaroons, viennoiseries, delicatessen products and prepared dishes for a finger-licking lunch on the go. At the back, on three floors (!), the gourmet restaurant unveils its cosy decor and bar.
For total immersion, the restaurant's top floor features a fully private room with a window overlooking the ballet in the kitchen.
Prices are in line with the neighborhood average: €49 for a starter/main course or main course/dessert lunch menu, €59 for a full lunch menu. The more adventurous will dare to try the 5-course (119€), 7-course (149€) or 9-course (189€) tasting menu. Must-tries include vitello tonnato (28€), of course, finely refreshed with lemon, and Black Angus ribs croquettes (35€), a nice street-food foray.
Fresh pasta, made on site, has its own section of the menu - the tortellini stuffed with guinea fowl (€35) is a comforting treat; and on the secondi side, the pan-fried veal sweetbread (€49) on a creamy old parmesan risotto is diabolical.
Of course, it's impossible to finish an Italian-style lunch without a tiramisu competition, and here the dessert is served by the ladle (23€), deceptively "à la bonne franquette" but in reality very refined and airy. At this address, the future is assured.
