After Le Crime de l'Orient-Express, Death on the Nile once again takes us into the adventures of the famous Hercule Poirot, one of the most egocentric detectives, if not THE most egocentric detective, of his generation, as the various characters in this new adventure like to remind us.
In addition to a somewhat shaky storyline, in which several of the protagonists must unfortunately die in excruciating agony before the great investigator can finally draw his conclusions, without losing a single ounce of his arrogance, Kenneth Branagh offers us a great spectacle, with magnificent images, a captivating plot, flamboyant actors and, all in all, unbearable suspense.
In short, Death on the Nile is a fine piece of entertainment that lets us escape for a few hours on the banks of the Nile to discover some of Egypt's finest jewels.
