This Sunday, November 17, bring the whole family to the Musée National de Céramique de Sèvres for a day of free activities. This is your chance to discover the museum and its temporary exhibition "Merveilles!", featuring over 500 extravagant, virtuoso or unusual objects from the museum's reserves, telling the story of this atypical museum.
On the program: creative workshops for children and guided tours for the whole family! For this November session, we're heading for the temporary exhibition that opened on October 11: Merveilles! a journey through 10 spaces featuring 500 exceptional treasures from the museum's reserves - unusual, poetic, strange and sometimes very fragile.
For this day of activities, the curators have chosen to focus on two female figures from the Portrait Gallery in the Merveilles! exhibition. The first, in mosaic, has haunted the gallery since the late 19th century, when it decorated the entrance to the museum. The second, made of strange tiles, was donated by its creator, Roger Capron: it's Jacotte, his wife, who accompanies you with her gaze.
On the program for Dimanche Merveilleux :
20-minute conference-meetings:
3pm: Mosaics are chic! - By Christine Vivet-Péclet, curator in charge of the 19th-20th century collections
