Parisians and tourists have been struggling with the metro line 14 for several months. As part of the extension to the Orly airport, works disturb the train traffic on the famous purple metro line. And therefore, the traffic is interrupted several nights a week already.
This beginning of the year, new perturbations have been announced on the metro line 14. Therefore, for 7 weekends, between late January and late May, metro line 14 is entirely closed all day. And the perturbations will begin from Saturday January 28 and Sunday 29, 2023. Then, traffic will be interrupted again all day on February 11 and 12, March 25 and 26, April 15 and 16, April 29 and 30, May 6 and 7 and May 27 and 28.
These new days of total closure of the purple line for several weekends are likely to make many travelers angry.
So, to address the issue, the RATP unveils some possible alternatives to drive between Mairie de Saint-Ouen and Olympiades stations.
For instance, to go to Saint-Lazare from Mairie de Saint-Ouen, you can ride metro line 13. Once at Saint-Lazare, ride metro line 12 to Madeleine, and then line 8 to Auber. Then head for RER A to go to Nation where you can grab line 6 to Nationale, close to Olympiades.
Unfortunately, for metro line 14 users, “more closures are planned in 2023”, according to the RATP, reminding the first train trials are to take place in 2023, until the extension comes into effect.
