Paris public transport users are used to it. Every year, they have to adapt to the many works and disruptions in the metro and RER. Line extensions, switch renewal, track maintenance or platform improvements... the reasons for these works are numerous and are not without consequences for passengers.
RATP and SNCF regularly announce total or partial traffic disruptions on certain metro and RER lines, with stations closed and not served, and even the introduction of temporary terminuses.
Currently, metro lines 14 and 11 are particularly affected by these works and disruptions due to the extension of these two metro lines. But other metro and RER lines are also affected by these partial or total closures. This is the case for line 3bis, the shortest line in the RATP network, line 13 and line 1, the busiest line in the Paris metro.
In all cases, users will have to find alternative solutions and routes by taking other lines, or even other means of transport such as the bus or tramway. Throughout the duration of these works and closures, RATP and SNCF are also regularly providing replacement buses.
