The one-of-a-kind Salon International du Livre Rare et des Arts Graphiques offers you the chance to discover the world's finest, oldest and rarest books, and even to take them home with you, as all budgets are represented. From September 22 to 24, 2023, the Grand Palais Ephémère will be transformed into a giant, original bookshop, featuring illustrated novels, children's classics, comic strips and rare posters.
Ahundred or so French and international bibliophile and graphic artsprofessionals will be on hand to share their passion and knowledge with the public. The lucky ones will leave the show with some extraordinary historical pieces, or books transformed into veritable works of art. Above all, it's an opportunity for all generations to admire a diverse literary and cultural heritage, as if in a cabinet of curiosities. Some visitors may even be drawn back to their childhood, when they see some of the original editions.
To mark the 150th anniversary of Colette's birth, the Jan Michalski Foundation is presenting an original exhibition on site, featuring some 250 documents. Visitors can also learn more about the world of books, with demonstrations of the different stages of bookbinding and restoration, a presentation of the profession of Parisian bookseller, and a concert-reading based on Colette's work.
