Duels at the Conciergerie: fencing fights and initiations in the Parisian monument

It's already been a year since Paris hosted the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, becoming the scene of many sporting exploits. For many of us, this event was an opportunity to discover and appreciate new sports. But now it's time to practice!

The Conciergerie is transformed into an unusual sports hall, with the Duels event : a unique weekend during which visitors can watch fencing bouts, and even learn about this fascinating sport. On May 10 and 11, 2025, under the vaults of the Parisian monument, memorable fencing bouts await us!

Patrick Groc, State-certified fencing instructor and former member of the French foil team, medallist at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games, will be on hand to lead the weekend and teach the basics of fencing.

Demonstrations and introductions to epee, sabre and foil will be held throughout the weekend, for the curious of all ages. It's an opportunity to practice an ancient but often little-known sport, and to discover a new passion... If you don't want to fight, with weapon in hand, this weekend should still be a great time, thanks to the demonstrations taking place in the heart of this grandiose monument.
