The issue of migration is one that comes up very often in the news. Human migratory flows, seen and described as a threat or perceived as an opportunity for exchange and development, motivated by opportunities as well as by escape from societal, environmental or conflict crises, have existed throughout history. The past, present and future of human migration will be studied and dissected in an exciting exhibition at the Musée de l'Homme in Paris from November 27 to June 8, 2025.
Migrations, a human odyssey is the name of this 600m2 exhibition that invites us to deconstruct preconceived ideas while discovering how migratory flows have shaped humanity. We're promised a " dynamic scenography and a host of interactive features", enabling the public to understand how human mobility, which is nothing new, has evolved throughout history, what the movements of populations reflect and what their impacts are: "The testimonies of people in migration reveal a wide variety of profiles, causes and trajectories. Through objects charged with an intimate history and works of art, most of which were created by migrant artists, discover as many personal views on this particular life experience."
