Sunday, October 16, 2016, is the national day against food waste. In Paris, on the Parvis de l'Hôtel de Ville, eight chefs will be on hand to serve a free anti-gaspi brunch to 1,500 Parisians to raise awareness of food waste, which represents more than 7 million tons of food every year in France, or more than €400 per year per household.
From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Allessandra Montagne, François Pasteau, Jean-Marc Notelet, David Rathgeber, Stéphane Jego, Frédéric Vardon, Thierry Marx and Pierre Sang will be on hand on the Parvis de l'Hôtel de Ville to serve 1,500 brunches to Parisians who have registered online, and organize workshops to explain how to reduce the amount of food thrown away, by using it to make broths, pies...
