If Sébastien Gaudard hasn't been in the news much lately, it's for a good reason: the pastry chef has been preparing, in the greatest of secrecy, the opening of a brand new address to match his gourmet ambitions: the Grand Café Sébastien Gaudard. Located in the heart of Paris, on the busy rue du Faubourg Poissonnière, the pastry chef from Lorraine unveils his new flagship after the Martyrs patisserie and the Tuileries tea room.
To discover this place at any time of day, you'll have to wait until next September. From morning onwards, Parisians and tourists alike will be able to sip a quality coffee, with different extractions, recipes and infusions. There's also a fine selection of teas, and to accompany them, there's nothing like a pastry from the secret pastry chef. Coffee tarts, tea tarts, lemon tarts, fruit tarts, which evolve as the seasons change, are sure to delight.
The sweet offering is complemented by a savoury selection, available at lunchtime, from quiches lorraines (of course!) to pâtés lorrains, croque-monsieurs, jambon-comté croissants and other gougères. In the afternoon, it's back to the sweet stuff with a tea-time drink and homemade pastries.
In a universe borrowed from the 50s, this new 150m2 café-boutique will also offer a wide range of grocery products - coffee, tea, cookies, travel cakes - as well as ice creams for hot days, chocolates, Viennese pastries... in short, the whole range of sweets that Sébastien Gaudard has brought out over the years.
With a terrace too, so you don't have to miss out on all the fun!
