Sapid unveils its pesco-vegetarian brunch, to be enjoyed on Saturdays and Sundays in the 10th arrondissement.

The Sapid restaurant, opened under the leadership ofAlain Ducasse and Romain Meder, unveils its new (and first) brunch, on Saturdays and Sundays from 11am to 3pm. The brunch is, of course, in keeping with the usual menu of this 10th arrondissement restaurant , which offers year-round local, pesco-vegetarian cuisine in keeping with the natural concept invented by the two chefs.

Brunch is offered in a choice of two plant-based formulas. The first, Capucine (€35), consists of a savory or sweet plate, a hot drink, and a savory and sweet buffet with cold drinks. The second formula, Aubépine (45€), consists of two savory and/or sweet plates, a hot drink, a cocktail (or mocktail), and the same access to the savory and sweet buffet and cold drinks.

So, here, no charcuterie or bacon eggs, but a buffet of plant-based specialties - although there is a large wheel of cheese and a few slices of smoked salmon for those who don't want to go without protein. From our point of view, the buffet was rather sparse, with a single savory tart (with beets and carrots), a single sweet tart (with apples), fromage blanc to accompany muesli, a few oranges and kiwis, two fairly classic cold salads (one with white cabbage, the other with lentils) and a sugar-coated brioche topped with homemade marmalade.

The cold drinks, on the other hand, are more original (herb juice, kefir, bissap), as is the mocktail of the day. Hot drinks that are less traditional than espresso or tea(chai latte, hot chocolate) are available for one or two euros on top of the brunch menu.

For sweet and savory dishes, we opt for the French toast topped with a soft-boiled egg and spinach, the vegetable bun with egg and pickles, the airy chocolate mousse (from Manufacture de Chocolat Alain Ducasse, of course!), and the quinoa and chia seed plate with dried fruit and citrus compote. Pleasant, but lacking in peachiness and seasoning.

If the concept of naturalness appeals to you, then this planet-friendly brunch is for you. On the other hand, if you're the kind of person who likes a pantagruelian brunch, there areother Parisian addresses that are more to your taste - for a similar or even lower price!
