Are you passing through the Gare de l'Est and looking for a place to eat well? Let's go to the restaurant of the hotel Le Grand Quartier, located in the 10th arrondissement, to discover the new menu, as tasty as it is regressive, of chef Thomas Coupeau. "Having been introduced to cooking at an early age in his parents' Vietnamese restaurant in La Rochelle, the chef, a Carbon defector, takes his inspiration from street food and other Parisian bistros.
A comforting menu for this winter that should warm up the stomachs! This menu can be enjoyed at any time of the day thanks to the variety of dishes offered, for breakfast as well as for brunch, lunch, afternoon tea or dinner. On the savory side, gnocchi, tarama, button mushrooms and dill; endives, pears, blue cheese and popcorn; boiled eggs and grilled cheese muffins; pancakes filled with béchamel sauce, soubressade and scarmozza; a nice piece of celery pie with mustard and pickles; or a filet o fish, seaweed tartar sauce and old cheddar.
On the sweet side, a brioche perdue with a scoop of fromage blanc ice cream or a chocolate fondant with vanilla ice cream infused with melilot will delight the gourmets. A menu that we were able to test in its entirety. On the savory side, everything is quite fine and the mix of genres is really interesting. Special mention for the boiled egg and its grilled cheese mussels, but also for the filet o fish and the filled pancake, regressive as one could wish. For dessert, we loved the brioche perdue with figs... A delight!
A beautiful gourmet address that we can't recommend enough. Let's go and discover the menu, friends?
