Printemps Haussman is rebranding itself and inviting you to see life in green! As the Festival du Printemps kicks off this weekend for the first time, offering a brilliant program ranging from live shows to performances and bonus food trucks, the department store is also opening its brand-new restaurant: Bleu Coupole.
As its name suggests, this restaurant is located under the Printemps cupola. Let's head for the 6th floor of Printemps Femme in Paris's 9th arrondissement to discover this spot-terrace that's sure to win us over.
While the majestic dome, a superb work of art deco, remains the same, the space has undergone a metamorphosis. The 6th floor now feels like the beach. The Brasserie that once occupied the center of the space has disappeared to make way for swimwear and other summer clothing and accessories.
To discover the Bleu Coupole, you'll have to go to the left of the arrival area, along the bay windows to enjoy the light we all love so much. To match the atmosphere, the restaurant takes on a beachside feel, with deckchairs and a pétanque court.
In a circle along the alcove windows, we discover numerous tables dotted around and several small outdoor terraces that are sure to please us this summer. Note that these terraces can be privatized. For the time being, the restaurant is only open to us during store opening hours, so you'll only be able to enjoy lunch, a drink or tea until 8pm (last order at 6:45pm).
The terraces offer a lovely panorama over the rooftops of Paris and a fine view of the Sacré Coeur. Make the most of fine weather for a moment in the sun.
In terms of cuisine, Bleu Coupole has decided to offer a made-to-measure menu that changes every 6 months. To start with, Elvira Masson has signed the menu, brilliantly executed by Chef Clément Blondeau. Author of the famous book "Dans ma cuisine", which proposes simple, easy-to-make dishes at home, Elvira offers us many dishes from her book at Printemps.
Starters include spicy mayo-gribiche eggs, a delicious green salad (a nod to Printemps' new identity), lentil and skate salad, and leeks with marinated egg vinaigrette.
Main courses include Halloumi Roasted Vegetables, Trout and Beet Gravlax, delicious Chakchoula Verte and Fregola Sarda with cockles and sausage.
We end on a sweet note with the regressive Lemon posset (a lemon cream, meringue and shortbread), the regressive Rice pudding or the poached pear with Bissap for the wiser in search of lightness.
The cuisine is simple, seasonal and affordable, with tangy dishes, pretty combinations and the right amount of freshness. Note that some dishes can be shared for 4, which reduces the bill. This is the case for Chakchouka, Fried Rice and Fregola Sarda.
In the afternoon, you can enjoy tea time with a drink and 3 pastries by chef Kevin Lacote. Expect to pay €30 for the classic tea time and €40 for the version with champagne. Sweet tooths can also opt for churros at 7€, cakes at 8€ or vanilla flan at 9€.
If the place isn't a rooftop, note that you only have to climb one floor to get to 7e Ciel and discover the new terrace.
So, let's have a gourmet moment with a beautiful view of the cupola and Paris?
