"If one day I had to give my mother a present, it would be to give her a restaurant. And if I had to choose a setting, it would be the Institut du Monde Arabe". Jamel Debbouze has now achieved his goal. The artist has teamed up with Paris Society to unveil an address in tribute to his mother. On the roof of theInstitut du Monde Arabe, Parisians of all ages will discover Dar Mima, Fatima's house, where you can sample the secret recipes of Jamel Debbouze's mother in a flamboyant setting designed by Laura Gonzales.
TheInstitut du Monde Arabe is the place that the artist introduced his mother to on her first visit to the capital, and it was also the venue for his very first interview. Today, it's a veritable Oriental Palace with a modern spirit that reveals itself to you, in this symbolic place for Jamel and Fatima Debbouze. The rooftop terrace, meanwhile, takes us into a Mediterranean garden, and there's no doubt that it will attract Parisians like honey attracts bees on sunny days.
Here, you can dine at Fatima's table, with dishes inspired by North African and Oriental cuisine, including Zaalouk for fans of Moroccan cooked salads, pastilla, tajine and the irresistible couscous, a favorite of the French. To accompany all this, mint tea is of course available, along with a menu of spicy cocktails. Finally, when night falls, Dar Mima becomes more festive, with an oriental ambiance and live music 3 or 4 nights a week.
