This weekend, December 21 and 22, 2024, disruptions are expected on certain transport routes in the Île-de-France region. Despite the suspension of most maintenance work during the school vacations, service disruptions will occur, notably on RER C, Transilien line P, RER E, metro line 1 and Tramway T1.

Due to the school vacations, most maintenance work has been suspended for the next two weeks. However, occasional disruptions are expected late on Saturday and Sunday, particularly on the southern part of RER line C and certain branches of line P. Here's a full rundown of the disruptions scheduled for the weekend of December 21 and 22, 2024, on the metro, RER, Transilien and tramways.

This weekend, 2 RER, one Transilien line, one tramway and one metro are affected. To find alternative routes if you need to travel, the Transilien SNCF website offers alternatives, with buses regularly scheduled to serve stations.

  • On the RER C, journeys between Paris and Sud-Essonne will be affected. On Sunday December 22, from 10 p.m., services between Paris-Austerlitz and the Saint-Martin d'Étampes and Dourdan termini will be interrupted. Replacement buses will ensure continuity of service until the end of the day. On Saturday, trains will run as normal until the end of service.

  • Users of Transilien line P will also have to anticipate interruptions. On Saturday and Sunday, trains between Paris and Coulommiers will stop running at 10.30pm, those on the Paris-Meaux route at 10.50pm, and service to Château-Thierry will be suspended from 11pm. Substitute buses will be put in place beyond these times to compensate for these interruptions.

  • On the RER E line, work to extend the line will necessitate an early closure. Traffic will be interrupted from 10.25pm on the Nanterre - Villiers-sur-Marne - Tournan route, and from 10.45pm between Nanterre and Chelles-Gournay, on both Saturday and Sunday. Replacement bus services will be available for passengers.

  • For safety reasons and to manage passenger flows, access to Tuileries station on line 1 of the metro will be closed on Saturday and Sunday, between 4pm and 11pm. During this period, trains will not stop at this station.

  • Finally, the T1 tramway will be interrupted between Gare de Noisy-le-Sec and Escadrille Normandie-Niémen, due to construction work, until March 31, 2025. Substitute buses will be used to provide the link. In addition, until January 28, 2025, the Hôtel de Ville de la Courneuve stop will not be served due to construction work.

We recommend that you consult the official RATP and SNCF websites for up-to-date information and plan your travel accordingly. Be careful, too, if you're taking the car instead, as traffic is tight this vacation weekend.
