New content presented by Guerilla Games, promising Aloy a journey to the scorching, volcanic hills of Hollywood. Synopsis of Horizon Forbidden West Burning Shores DLC unveiled at the Game Awards :
"Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores sees Aloy pursue a sinister threat in the Los Angeles wilderness, now a treacherous volcanic archipelago".
All that remains is for you to discoverAloy 's short, but intense, new adventures at the heart of her post-apocalyptic universe. Please note, however, that this DLC, according to Gameblog, will only be released on PS5, leaving PS4 players out in the cold, despite the game's release on the console. Let's wait and see if PlayStation changes its mind on the matter.
Our review of Horizon Forbidden West - Burning Shores :
Tested on PS5 - Playing time: 4h, DLC finished. Note that you'll need to finish the "Singularity" quest in the main game to access this DLC.
Alert, little gem! Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores has been waiting to blow your mind since April 19. And one thing's for sure: we're in for a real treat! Graphically speaking, it's simply sumptuous, both in fidelity mode and in performance mode (which we opted for, for better image fluidity).
Story-wise, the DLC is well supplied, with a main quest and a few side quests, all of which take around 4 hours to complete. The story continuesHorizon Forbidden West, with new details on the coming scourge, called Nemesis. There are also new characters just as well written as in the base game, including Seyka, a secondary character in this DLC who will assist Aloy in her quest to find Walter Londra, one of the Zeniths who managed to escape.
In terms of gameplay, although the gameplay is exactly the same as in Horizon Forbidden West, the addition of legendary level weapons, to be crafted with amber stones to be found on the new map, is much appreciated. The same goes for the zenith weapon, adding new attack possibilities, or at least something other than simple arrows, which are a little too rudimentary.
In short,Horizon Forbidden West's DLC, Burning Shores, is well worth the detour if you own a PS5. All you have to do is get it, folks!
To your controllers!
