The French Donuts (formerly Humm... DOnuts) remains a must for American donut lovers. Their donuts, very round, very plump, change every month for the curious! And the place is also a cafe, where you can sit and drink a mocha, a chai latte or a milkshake in the 9th district of Paris.

"Humm a donut!" This famous line from dear Homer Simpson was the original name of this 100% donut tea room at 56 rue la Bruyère. For almost 5 years now, The French Donuts has been offering its delights to lovers of fatty and tasty donuts. Here, in addition to the classic vanilla, cinnamon or sweet glaze, the pastry chef has fun every month making "ultra donuts", gourmet donuts.

During our last visit, in January 2021, there were 11 donuts on the menu, and the specialties of the month were: a donut of the kings, with a frangipane glaze, a donut in a tatin style, with caramelized apples in the oven and whipped cream, but also a tropézienne (the donut was filled with a light vanilla cream), a Nutella marshmallow and skewers that are too funny and more convenient to eat for children. Price-wise, The French Donuts wants to stay affordable. The classic donut costs 3,5 euros, and the ultra 4,5 euros.

To see the current menu, you have to check the Insta page or the Facebook page of The French Donuts. Flour from the mill, AOP butter, brown sugar, the shop window states that the donuts are prepared every morning, one by one, with 0% additives, 0% preservatives. The pastry chef even advises to reserve the day before for the next day because the donuts go fast in the neighborhood.

The room was closed, but a dozen places usually allow you to taste your donut on the spot with a drink. The Viennese coffee is 2,90 euros, the cappuccino 3,90 euros, the chai latte 5 euros and the chocolate with whipped cream 6 euros. Fans will also find milkshakes and homemade iced tea!

On the other hand, no delivery is possible, the house has stopped working with platforms. To have these doughnuts, you have to deserve it and move!
