Cécile Khayat and Victoria Effantin, who have been delighting customers in and around the 9th arrondissement for the past year, have just opened a second Mamiche bakery on rue du Château d'Eau, in the 10th arrondissement.
Like its big sister, this second address offers gourmands and gourmets a multitude of sweet and savoury goodies at affordable prices.
The bread is prepared with old-fashioned sourdough, and adapted to the seasons and the desires of the two friends. In the shop window, you'll see beautiful golden loaves of bread that are sure to catch the eye of passers-by.
There's bread at Mamiche, but there's also a multitude of viennoiseries and pastries: croissants, chouquettes, cinnamon rolls, cookies, apricot crostata, salted butter and chocolate flutes, orange blossom brioche... It's hard not to buy everything!
On the spot, we don't hesitate for a second and try Mamiche's babka, their best-seller with well-deserved success. And if you're more the savoury type, the summer fougasse with tomatoes and homemade pesto or the ham and cheese rolls are sure to please.
In short, the new favorite spot for bread lovers in the 10th arrondissement!
Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
