An Indian brunch is unusual enough, but with the added bonus of 3D cat-art lattes, you've got to love it! Nothing predisposed Baranaan and Pingwoo to marry their kitchens, apart from their two neighboring counters at Boom Boom Villette. The idea germinated, and together they offer a new fusion brunch, rich in spices, to be discovered at Baranaan Paris 10e, every day from Thursday to Monday, from 9am to 4pm.
If you don't know Baranaan, it's a restaurant that combines Indian street food with a cocktail bar. Like a speakeasy with a train-like atmosphere and Indian scenery, all set to Bollywood music, this is an original setting for an unusual brunch.
The idea here is not to offer classic all-you-can-eat dishes, but rather a sweet and savory menu where brunch staples are revisited with an Indian twist. For example, Eggs Benedict is unveiled with soft Indian Pao bread, a mild curry sauce and a salad with a tangy Indian vinaigrette that we love.
Avocado toast is transformed into tandoor-cooked Avocadonaan with a poached egg, curried avocado cream, pomegranates and papadum chips. For our part, we love the Naandish Butter Chicken with ultra-melting chicken on a bed of naan with red cabbage pickles, ginger and yoghurt sauce.
To accompany these generous dishes, we opt for lassis, the famous Indian drinks similar to milkshakes. For us, it's sweet pink and mango, with a cat option, of course.
For dessert, we're tempted by Indianpancakes with fruit, whipped cream and kulfi ice cream, rich, creamy Indian ice creams that are homemade here. If you're a sweet tooth, you'll be tempted by the decadent chocolate fondue with pieces of naan dipped in it, but if you're a sweet tooth, you'll be tempted by the Pao Perdu, an Indian-style French toast with our famous homemade pistachio or mango ice creams.
For hot drinks, we opt for the Macha Latte Pistachio, the Chaï Latte and the Hot Chocolate. Note that they have specialty coffees and a wide range of lattes to choose from, to be blended with cow's milk or a whole range of plant-based milks. The whole family of little cats come to visit us, and we've adopted them all!
