Located on rue des Petites Ecuries, Maison Bon is as charming as its founder Chloé - a graduate of the Ferrandi school, always smiling and taking care of her customers. The decor is sober but elegant, mixing stainless steel and graphic tiles, with beautiful light fixtures, a large mirror and stools for lunch.
For breakfast, lunch or snacks - on the spot or to take away - the house offers a range of fresh products in vitamin-rich colors, each one more appealing than the next. All are certified organic, gluten-free and vegetarian, and many are vegan.
There's no doubt that Chloé's recipes and her marriage of flavors would almost make us forget our orgies of sausage, rib steak and sashimi - which we would gladly trade for a delicious risotto of zucchini, parmesan, pear and kasha seeds, a carrot, orange and ginger soup, or a subtle salad of quinoa, pomegranate, broccoli, fennel and pickled radishes.
As for drinks, Chloé offers very good iced teas, a lemonade, cold extracted fruit juices, but also hot drinks at any time of the day. For dessert, our heart swings between a cheese cookie and a chia pudding, with slices of kiwi and granola in addition, but it's the second one that will be the winner.
We leave La Maison Bon with full bellies but light hearts - delighted to recognize that the most delicious meals can definitely do without gluten, meat, fish and even animal products.
