Folks, today we're taking you to the 17th arrondissement, to discover a little neighborhood bistro that's been a fixture on rue Legendre since the early 20th century. Named Le P'tit Canon, this gourmet spot hasn't always been called that, and hasn't always had the same function.
And yes, at the beginning of the last century, the establishment was a brothel! In terms of decor, the new team has chosen to leave the establishment as it was, with its red and white checkered tablecloths, period tiled floors, carved stonework, comfortable banquettes and imposing counter where you can enjoy a drink in the evening, while Le P'tit Canon is transformed into a wine bar - with a fine selection of gin.
At lunchtime, you can choose from the daily menu (2 starters, 5 main courses), or from the à la carte menu, featuring generous, home-cooked dishes typical of French cuisine.
Do you love bistro-style dishes? Eggs mayo, terrines and herring fillets in oil? Look no further, you'll find it all on the P'tit Canon menu!
For our part, we tried the foie gras de canard mi-cuit au torchon (homemade!; 14€), the oeufs cocotte au foie gras (9€) and the blancs de poireaux vinaigrette (7,50€), three appetizing starters.
Afterwards, we're tempted by the sausage (16€) accompanied by a light, sprightly aligot, and by the roasted lamb mouse with rosemary and seasonal vegetables (24€), impressive in size and rich in flavor. And let's not forget a nice little glass of red wine!
To round things off, we serve lemon crêpes for Chandeleur, and you leave the P'tit Canon with a full belly and a smile on your face!
Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
