Forget the classic salad-tomato-onion kebabs; at Lüks, originality is the order of the day! Created in 2019 by Kamal Zaoui and Nordine Bara, two street-food enthusiasts, Lüks first set up shop in the capital's 13th arrondissement, before opening a second takeaway address on the Canal Saint-Martin.
The idea behind Lüks? To offer a gourmet version of the traditional kebab which, decades after its arrival in France, remains one of the favorite sandwiches of young gourmets - and not just on the way home from a party! Indeed, there's no time like the present to devour a good kebab, and even more so when it's made with carefully sourced, or even homemade, goodness.
And that's just what Lüks is all about! With daily fresh vegetables, homemade sauces, artisan bread and impeccably traceable meat, sourced from a renowned butcher and marinated for 24 hours in a secret marinade, Lüks kebabs are to be savored with your eyes closed.
First choice of the day: how do you eat this kebab? In a patty, in a soft homemade bun or in a bowl version, the new format available at Lüks? Second dilemma: which recipe do you prefer? It has to be said that Lüks recipes all rival each other in inventiveness!
There are 9 permanent recipes on the menu, plus one that is regularly renewed, so there's room for all kinds of craziness. Alongside the traditional kebab (8.90€) with salad, tomato and onion, but enhanced with red cabbage and feta cheese as in Berlin kebabs, there's the goat-honey (8.90€) for sweet and sour lovers, the fuego (9,90€) with its cheddar sauce and taste-bud-warming jalapenos, the halloumix (9.90€) with this cheese from Cyprus, now the star of planchas, or the tartufo (16.90€), with stracciatella di Burrata and black truffle carpaccio.
Our favorite is the pistacchio (€14.90), with its pistachio sauce, red onion and yellow zucchini pickles for freshness, stracciatella di Burrata for comfort and creaminess, and a handful of chopped pistachios on top for crunch and color. In its galette version, the kebab looks like a little painting!
As you can see, the kebab here is generous and original, far from the clichés of the genre. We've also been told that a third Lüks Kebab is due to open this summer!
