Notice to all gourmets looking for originality in their plates, but not only! Since September 23, 2022, the 10th arrondissement of Paris has been home to a new spot that's worth a visit. Named Noori, this new address offers us a unique experience around Japan.
It is in an unusual setting, recreating both the aspect of a Tokyo alley and the spirit of an Izakaya, that Noori awaits us to make us discover an almost unique product in Paris: the tacosushi. A mix of taco and sushi, this specialty draws its inspiration from Japanese street-food fusion. Imagine an ultra-crispy Japanese taco prepared from a lightly fried nori seaweed coated with tempura, topped with Japanese rice and a recipe based on raw or braised fish, meat or vegetables... And you get the tacosushi to be eaten by hand of course!
On the menu of this first fast-food restaurant dedicated to tacosushi in France? For the moment, there are 7 homemade tacosushis generously garnished, including the excellent"Yakedo", containing a melting slab of salmon marinated and braised at the minute with a blowtorch, slices of avocado, lamb's lettuce, white and black sesame, and rock chive (mountain garlic shoot).
Discover also the"Sakana" with salmon, tuna, chimichurri and yuzu sauce, white cabbage/carrot mix, white and black sesame, spring onion and bubu arare (Japanese puffed rice), or the"Furuti" with salmon tartar, tuna, avocado, mango and tobiko (flying fish roe), Japanese mayo or spicy mayo, lamb's lettuce, white and black sesame, spring onion and ito togarashi (chili pepper).
If you prefer shrimp, then go for the"Shifudo" (shrimp tempura, tobiko, avocado slices, homemade cocktail sauce, lamb's lettuce, spring onion). Noori will also satisfy the taste buds of beef lovers with the"Gyu", of fried chicken " karaage " with the"Chikin" or of vegetarians with the"Yasai".
These delicious recipes are accompanied by several cold drinks (Japanese lemonade, cold sencha green tea, organic yuzu cider...), but also byappetizers (gyozas of the moment, octopus and vegetable fritters, Japanese fried chicken with ginger...) and desserts (matcha tea tiramisu, yuzu lemon panna cotta, passion pearls of Japan...)
And the originality does not stop at the product, since Noori also makes us live a real immersion in the country of the Rising Sun by betting on an unusual decor, imagined as " an abandoned place 70 years old, which would have been discovered in 2022 and decorated in an underground atmosphere of our time ", the whole provided by the architect Pablo Goury.
We love the innumerable small details spread out in the four corners of the restaurant: old photos and knick-knacks, Japanese lanterns, mangas diffused on small screens, luminous lettering, false manhole covers on the floor, without forgetting the toilets which are also worth the detour. But shhh, we won't tell you more, and leave you the surprise!
Behind Noori, we find the passionate and exciting Axel Muller, an unconditional fan of Japanese pop and food culture, eager to share his passion with as many people as possible in Paris. So, ready to push the doors of Noori, this new restaurant to discover absolutely?
