Look no further for the best burger in the Paris region- it's at Disney Village! On April 12, Cédric Albaret, sous-chef at Annette's Diner, took the title of best burger in Ile-de-France at the 8th Coupe de France du Burger. This victory is all the more memorable given that the sous-chef, who began his career in 2010 as an apprentice commis de cuisine, was taking part in this prestigious competition for the first time.
His career has taken him to various Disneyland Paris restaurants, from the Blue Lagoon (now Captain Jack's) to Walt's, An American Restaurant, via the opening of Bistrot Chez Rémy. He joined theAnnette's Diner team a year ago, with the support of his Chef Siva Sivathas, winner of the title for the Ile-de-France region in 2018.
Inspired by this year's rock'n'roll theme, the sous-chef created the "Tequila" burger based on the famous song of the same name. This unique burger, with Mexican and American influences, features a brioche bun, a spicy sauce with candied peppers and jalapenos, avocado, tomato, cilantro and lime tartar, tequila and red onion marinated steak, flamed cheddar melted with crispy bacon and onions, all topped with arugula for a touch of freshness.
After an initial selection process based on applications, Cédric Albaret was chosen from among 25 candidates - 5 from each region - and trained to create his burger in 25 minutes, in preparation for the grand final. Although this was his first participation in the Coupe de France du Burger, he had already competed in the Shaker Challenge, an in-house event at Disneyland Paris. And if he didn't win the Coupe de France, his burger will at least be named best in the region.
A burger now available on the restaurant's menu, until July 31, 2023. Shall we stop by Annette's Diner, folks? Let's eat!
